Ancient Assyrian
What was the difference between ancient Mesopotamian and Assyrian religion?

I have to compare and contrast Mesopotamian, Assyrian, Egyptian, and Hebrew. But I dont get the difference between the two above.

First off, Assyria was in Mesopotamia. Second, the gods of Egypt were seen to be far more helpful to man as the Nile as a river is more gentle than the Tigris and Euphrates. The Nile (Osiris) flooded once a year at the same time which was a great benefit to Egyptians. Mesopotamians (Sumeria, Babylon, Assyria, and Chaldea some of the more prominent civilizations) viewed their gods in a much harsher light as the rivers of their world were unpredictable and as harmful as they were helpful, but some were helpful and were well appreciated and recieved. In ancient Mesopotamia, the facts of nature were attributed to the workings of divine forces. Thus, there were many gods and goddesses, many alien conspiracy types say these were examples of alien visitors but that's their thing not mine. The names of these Mesopotamian god groups are sometimes the same and others developed additionally over time. You need to ask your teacher what he/she means because your confusion is correct as Assyria was in Mesopotamia and therefore is an example of a Mesopotamian religion. Let me know if you need any further help.
