The ancient Hindu 'Maala' is known as 'Rosary' in Christianity. Anyone know what Muslims call it?
The Mala is a part of 'Hindu Parayan' (Prayer) rituals and is governed by rules regarding the number of beads - typically 108 - and type of beads - typically 'Rudràksh'
(SEE: http://www.radhagopaljiutempel.com/sriguruparampara.htm)
Christians call it the strongest weapon against sin
(SEE: http://www.aomin.org/aoblog/index.php?itemid=3082)
Now Muslims also carry it and say it is as per their prophet.
Can anyone tell me what do THEY call it?
The use of beads in prayer cannot be claimed by any one religion. It's a universal thing.
Personally I like the Anglican Rosary.
