is it disrespectful to wear rosary bead as a necklace?
ook so i have a friend that gave a whole speech about wearing rosary beads and the little the catholic bracelets because im not catholic...well i am christian im baptist and i think its just a necklace and a bracelet and it goes well with my outfit and its not that big a deal...besides no matter what demonation we are all still serving the same God so whats the big deal?
It depends on your intentions, beliefs, and the particular rosary beads. If you are using your rosary beads for prayer, some people (such as myself) think you should not wear them, but others think that it is good to wear them as a necklace so they are closer to your heart. Also, some people (once again, people like myself) find it offensive if a person wears rosary beads. Many Catholics find that rosary beads should only be used for prayer and not as an accessory.
Also, my mother has rosary beads from her grandmother that were blessed by a pope. When I was little, she lectured me about trying to wear them because apparently if you wear rosary beads, the blessing is gone and you shouldn't pray with them anymore.
It would be rude for a random person to lecture you about these things, so I think you should just wear them if you want and not care about what others think.
