Christians, when the person next to you in Church is sharing a song book and you must stand up, bend sidways?
and stretch your neck to sing along, do you silently wish the Church would get off the dime and buy more song books? Or do you enjoy the "personal, up close" look at your neighbor's brooch or the tie patterns and colors?
I love our overhead projector! If we ever sing out of a book, it's rare, and usually only around Christmas (especially if we take the books with us carroling). Besides, what's wrong with sharing? Sharing is spiffy ^_^, just like our parents teach us when we are toddlers!
Haha.
But seriously- overhead projector solves the problem, so long as there aren't a bunch of old people who are as nostalgic as they are domineering who INSIST the book is the only way to go and get mad if you don't give them their way (someone else acting like toddlers!). Furthermore, with the projector, you aren't limited to just what's in the book. You can type in the lyrics to any song, and program whatever songs you want in for each service. Sometimes even change the lyrics up a bit like our old music pastor did.
