That France, the progressive leaders of the time, were the first to popularize concepts such as bicameral legislation, 3 part systems of government, private land ownership, government with the consent of the governed.
Of course John Locke (British) "the father of modern liberalism" deserves mention as well for his profound contributions.
And besides providing the philosophical framework for our Constitution they provided financial aid to this fledgling nation which allowed such radical ideas time to flourish.
So I ask you, how much do you epitomize these progressive forefathers of individual liberty?
