Cosmetic Vessel
How do I make my eyes bleed? (Film)?

We're doing a film for a school project. It's for college so it's gotta be convincing. If, and only if, it is harmless to pop a blood vessel how would we go about it? It's gotta be something that can be done quick and safely (not cause permanent injury). I was wondering if maybe there were contacts to do this with, or a particular tool, maybe certain eye drops or food coloring that is dark red. Any cosmetic ideas. Or something. Don't want it to look ghetto. And seriously, it's gotta be safe. No chlorine gas obviously.

I would be careful about trying anything to strange, maybe you could just rub your eyes for a little while before the scene to make them look a little red, but nothing to intense.
