I wear both...
When i wear the duppata i make sure it has been doubled, as wearing it without doubling it then your hair and neck may show. Also i wear a head cap underneath so the duppata doesn't slip off my head
(make sure your duppata is pinned when wrapping around your head)
I also wear a scarf, preferably on a day were it isn't hot.. it is a lot more easier to wear.
