I purchased a high quality backpack at a good price. Unfortunately, the backpack has a small Volkswagen symbol (the VW symbol) embroidered on the front pocket of the backpack. Is it okay to put a patch (I got a round patch with my initial on it) over the embroidery part and use some mega strong fabric glue to mend (like Fabri Tac)? Will that work? Thank you experts!
I recommend fabric glue. My favorite is Delta brand Jewel Glue. It's designed for porous and non-porous surfaces. It stays slightly flexible (won't crack) when dry and holds up for years. Stitching around the very edge is a good idea, too. Make your stitches no longer than 1/8" on the front and 1/4" on the back. Yes, it might feel like it's taking a long time. The time it takes to do it right the first time is much less than the time it takes to redo it when it falls apart because you were in a hurry when you did it.
