What equipment must i have for recordng?
I have a PC (WinXP)....What exactly do I need to start recordng hip hop music....Software, Equipment....???
If you are going to record vocals you'll need a microphone, possibly a little mixer would be handy and a proper audio card.

My personal favorites are FL Studio and Ableton Live. FL Studio is really great for doing beats, quite a number of hip hop artists use this.
Make sure to get some good samples though, like the ones from Goldbaby (http://goldbaby.co.nz , he has a page with free samples as well)

Other things you might want to consider. A MIDI controller keyboard, if you want to "play" melodies instead of using mouse+computer keyboard. For doing beats a MPD type thing is nice as well. http://www.akaipro.com/mpd
