Does this really work to ward off "the evil eye?"?
Recently I went to a Greek festival, no, I am not Greek, and purchased an ankle bracelet with beads with designs that are supposed to look like eyes. Other jewelry like that was created and said they were created to ward off the evil eye. Does it work? Obviously it depends on the person, but I'm just wondering what the vast majority will say. Thanks!
Naw, burn some "esphand" or wild rue in a pan on your stove until it smokes, then wave the smoke over the infected person or area. That's what my Iranian friends tell me, anyway. But they use the eye-jewelry as well. They also tell me the "chaysh-eh bad" (bad eye) is repelled by the color blue and the sound of running water.
