Fibula Buckle
2 year old with buckle fracture...10 pt for best suggestion1?

I have a very active 2 yr old and she fell on the playground yesterday and she now has a buckle fracture in her right leg at the lower end of the fibula. Since I am 27 weeks pregnant the doctor did not want to immobilize her with a hard cast. She is in a 'boot' which is secured by velcro straps. She keeps taking the boot off. I called the doctor and he said to keep her off the leg and call back with an update on Monday and he will consider the hard cast. How can I keep this on her since it will be impossible the keep her quiet the whole weekend. Also, I called the doctor at about 4:45pm and he probably closes at 5pm and it is a Friday. Suggestions Please on how the keep it on!!!!!!!

I would wrap the boot with an ace wrap and let her draw on the ace wrap with washable markers...get a couple and you can wrinse and dry them and let her do it again. Also I know most people don't believe in giving electronic games to children this young but I have to admit that giving my 3 year old a game boy and some easy beginner games has saved my tush with this pregnancy. I'm not able to get around since I'm pretty much on moderate bed rest until delivery. Good luck hun!
