The Dobe Ju as a model . . .?
You are an Archaeologist who has just finished a multi year project, carefully excavating a large single occupation/habitation site called Acirema that dates to 4000 BC. You have found the remains of 20 flimsy hut circles that range in size from 2m to 8m in size. You noticed that during your excavation work, the river right beside the camp ran dry at times, but was a running river during part of the year. There are numerous ash pits but many of the hearths are still full of ash. Bones and broken pots litter the site and the bones are typically only from the largest meaty bones. One hearth consists of only upper leg bones while another hearth consists of only upper arm bones. Using the Ju/’hoansi as a model to interpret these remains, what can say about this site. Beside one hearth were numerous ostrich eggshell bead fragments, while at a second hearth, the only artefacts were stone tools. Fully explain and support your answer.
This is like Deja Vu.
Acirema spelled backwards is America!
