How to identify this Pool cue- antique, 1 of a kind?
I am trying to identify what i think is a 1 of a kind cue. It is a 1 piece, with sterling silver inlaid very detailed flowers (20) in the center of each is a chip of jade or turquoise. The flowers are on 2 sides of the handle, on the other 2 sides is a sterling silver rectangular pattern. The handle is square like- not round. There is an emblem at the butt- a sterling silver shield with letter T on it (the top two points of the T curve downwards, and the bottom off the T spread to 3 points) The T is white. OVER the t is a teal/blueish colored bow - or pair of scissors, with the handles on top and the points at the bottom, open. I think i have it pinned down to the late 18th/early 19th century but cant be sure. Any advice on how to identify it without taking it in and giving it to someone would be appreciated, or recommendations to a reputable appraiser in the Houston area would be great! Ive looked over the web for weeks and have found nothing!
If you have no idea what kind it is how do you know its a one of a kind??
Now that i got out of my system ha ha Im also in Houston Why not run it up to Richard Black in Humble If its a stick he can tell you about it,Also Roger Allen At Big Tyme Billiards in spring would be another one to ask.
