The Dead Sea Scrolls and Josephus, a Jewish historian of the 1st century AD, describe Goliath as '4 cubits and a span' tall, which is 6 feet 7 inches.
Later Septuagint Biblical texts give his height as '6 cubits and a span' which would be 9 feet 6 inches.
