why is that most countries allow islam in their country, while islamic countries don't?
why is that most countries allow islam in their country, while islamic countries don't allow religious freedom. shouldn't islam be banned in non-islamic countries.
Fair question, but I also think it answers itself. Christians and humanists alike subscribe to the "Golden Rule" of do as you would be done by - yeah so it's in the Sermon on the Mount, but it's fundamental to all moral codes and is not specifically religious. If you want people to tell you the truth, don't lie to them. I don't go around calling people *****ing idiots because I'd prefer they didn't call me one. Obvious really, though I accept that it doesn't apply on the internet.
We want Islamic countries to grant religious freedom, so we grant freedom to Moslems in the West. That gives us some leverage. Restricting freedom lowers us to their level, and yes I am coming on all superior because in this respect at least I think we are. I am currently trying to support an asylum seeker from Iran. He can never go home, because as a Christian he would be in mortal danger.
Christianity has had to learn to be tolerant of other faiths: the mainstream denominations largely have, while "non-denominational" conservatives don't see tolerance as a virtue. In fact, they are ideologically closer to Islamists than to liberal Christians because they don't believe in pluralism - and thus, logically, not in democracy either. If we are - small d - democrats, we must embrace religious freedom, whoever else doesn't.
