does anybody know if silvertone jewllery goes rusty?
hii.i was on ebay and saw some designer silver tone jewllery.i wanted to buy it for a friend so i need to know if its sterling silver or silver plated..if it is silver plated would that rust??/....thankyou..xxx.....=)
Silver tone simply means it's a silver colored metal (often nickel).
Most jewelry manufacturers don't make jewelry in metals that will rust. It is, however, entirely possible that the silver colored metal is a thin coating over a different type of metal, and the coating can wear away, leaving another colored metal underneath.
