interpret dream - haunted castle?
I had this dream about 3 days ago, it's still vivid in me. I was driving an old blue sportscar through a sombre, dark landscape with mountains and pine forests. It was getting dark and I still had a long way to go so I stopped at an old castle used as a tourist accomodation in the valley named Valley of Lamps. There was a large hall, and dark corridors with small sleeping chambers. A man told me to choose any room, but don't go too deep in the castle, or go to the second floor, as it is haunted. Almost all rooms were occupied, there were lots of tourists and travellers with lots of baggage; so I went deeper and deeper in the castle, in the 'haunted' area where it was dark, quiet and cold. I found a small cozy room with a bed and red tapestry. There was also a nightstand and an urn with a gruesome painting on it. I opened the urn and a djinni came out, saying he can transport me anywhere I want. I asked him to send me home, and in the next instant I was at the front door of my house.
castles are about security, so I think the dream is about how secure you feel in life. you were unable to find a secure resting place with all the travellers around, which could mean that you feel insecure around people you don't really know. you were told that the other parts of the castle were haunted, which could represent a fear about unknown things. but you overcame this fear and found a secure place, so the dream could be telling you that fear of the unknown is not always justified. you found a resting place when you were by yourself, away from other influences, which might mean that you feel secure within yourself. once you felt secure, you were able to take control of your life, represented by the djinni doing exactly as you wished. finally being back home could mean that once you've found your security and inner peace you're ready to deal with the realities of life.
