I'm an artist, and many have advised they would like to see my work on fabric -- i.e. for draperies, upholstery, linens. I also have many designs that would lend themselves well for clothing. Do you market it to individual designers - or, to fabric manufacturers? Thanks in advance for your help!

If you want to market your designs to manufacturers get ready to face hard times. Design and fashion,as well as contemporary design furniture and stuffs is a world of sharks,they dont care wheter your work is great, but if you re already famous they want your name there, the goal is to sell, not to do great things.
being you an artist i suggest you to find some small business eager to develope good products..start out slow and dont give up, best things come out from people like you.And..defend own your interests, register everything you do, make copies of them, make sure you have the evidence that its you who invented it
