Do you think the amish way of life is more prospering whereas modern life is more perishing?
Like the avg amish household makes 40k a year farming and or making well constructed products to sell. They own everything from the time they are young , house , etc.
They do not have the debts or bills modern life.In modern life
you may own your house by the time your ready to die, and your marriage may have lasted that long as well. Also in modern life you generally do not get to grow old with your family and friends. Like you get out of school, and get a job
and they live all over the place.So basically modern day life is a bunch of solo nomads caught up in maddness and saddness.What do you think.Also are we lazy bums in the rat race, and they are hard workers at what matters most.Corporations grow communities die, not to mention the family unit.Are we but modern slaves
i think the amish have the right idea of not being of this world. i know that we don't have to live like that for Him to use us, but it does have its advantages. to me, w/all this modernization, it distracts us more from spending time w/Him. but it does depend on the person. i know i can benefit from a life like that. i lack discipline 
also, many of us aren't lazy when it comes to work. yet, i guess, we mainly work for ourselves and our families and not for the overall community, which would benefit us in the long run.
