I have a 45-yr old jade plant that I need to save! I think it has an infestation?
it is a huge old plant that I now know I over-watered. Beyond that, some of its huge older main branches have some off and they're black inside. Looking close, I see little tiny bugs, but they don't fit the description of the mealy bugs that I've seen on these Q/A sites. This plant is so old and regal, I will do anything to save it. Help please!
The bugs are probably feeding on the damaged tissue. If you want to save the plant cut off the damaged limbs and don't water the plant. You could also take a few branches and cut them off and plant them Now you have more jade plants.
