Osiris Amulet
history hw, help please?

why was mummification so important to the ancient egyptains?
i got a little idea but then i wasnt too sure when i was researching i found this

"Because of Isis. When Seth murdered his brother Osiris, he cut his body into pieces before he hid them in 14 different locations. Isis found the body parts and put them together to make the first mummy. She protected it with amulets and spells."

is this the most important reason?
does it have anything to do with why its important?
and can you please give me some reasons on why mummification was important
to egyptians.

please and thank youu :)

Preservation of the physical body was paramount, for without a home, the soul wandered and would be lost forever.

Human mummification was related to beliefs concerning the afterlife and was undertaken to safeguard the fate of the soul. During the process, temple priests bestowed an assortment of incantations and spells. The bandages were also decorated with amulets (like scarabs and ankhs), which were meant to serve as protection in the afterlife. The corpse would often don a death mask, which took place before the finished mummy was positioned in a coffin that was shaped like a body. This was called a sarcophagus. When the coffin was settled in its final resting place, a wide-range of items would surround the dead, such as furniture, food, drink, clothes, and clay figures of servants – anything they would need to lead a complete life while in the afterlife.
