how rare is it to not get a big belly during pregnancy? or to get it really late?
can anyone give me like a ratio or percentage..something like that
AND is it likely to take longer than 4 or 5 months to see changes in my belly?
i've had no symptoms just a feeling that my ego is prego.
i've gained like 5 pounds recently. no change in diet other
than i've been eating alot.
It's not common, but not uncommon either and usually nothing to worry about. Some ladies show at 10 weeks, some don't show ever.
I carried very small with both my pregnancies, even a twin pregnancy (both were good weight for twins too), I did not show much. At 30+ weeks with a twin pregnancy I still had people ask whether I was pregnant or not. Everyone's body is configured a little differently, my physician's explanation was basically that my babies didn't so much grow out as shove other organs aside in my abdomen. One was wedged up partially in my rib cage and you wouldn't have even known she was there by looking at me. I believe that it also may have been because prior to and even throughout pregnancies, even now, I was and am in very good shape and my abdominal muscles were/are very strong. The pregnancies didn't push them as easily as someone who maybe wasn't in very good shape and didn't have a strong abdomen.
I ate constantly but never gained much as is typical of me outside of pregnancy. I think I put on 13 pounds total with my first, going by my BMI and height I should have gained about 35, but she was perfectly healthy so obviously we both got plenty. My twin pregnancy was something like 19-20 pounds, and I should have gained 40-50, but again, they were healthy and I was relatively healthy and bounced back quickly, so I guess that's just how my body reacts.
