Why not give the Sahara Desert to the Israelis to green?
At least hey would restore it to it's original ecosystem, like they are doing in the Dead sea valley and the Negev...
I always had a dream to make that Desert into an arable land like it used to be during the Roman times.... Maybe mulch it, would help too, or spread a bunch of tires across it to hold the sand down. What would be your Idea?
The Sahara's natural eco system is desert.
Where would the water come from? The Sahara is landlocked, and piping in water from the oocean would be expensive and very energy-intensive. Not worth it. The Nile is the only big river in that part of the continent, and diverting it would ruin that ecosystem and bankrupt Egypt.
