Crochet pattern help, I have a picture of the project so far?
k so Im making a doily. The instruction say "Rnd 4: Ch 3, 2 dc in same st, *ch 5, 3 dc in next st, sl st in next ch sp, ch 5, sl st in next ch sp**, 3 dc in next st, rep from * around, ending last rep blah blah so on and so on...."
ok so far I have the "ch 3, 2 dc in same st, *ch 5" in this round and this is what it looks like: http://img141.imageshack.us/img141/6184/problemcopykq7.jpg
now do I do the 3 dc in spot 1 or 2?? I think I understand everything after that...oh and the picture of the finished piece isnt that helpful =/
Thanks in advance!
Here is a picture of the finished project:

oh and that flower in the center is added on last. I think the part I'm stuck on is underneath the flower...
You don't do it in either of the st you indicated. What you have done, (ch3, 2 dc, ch5) should be in the first dc of the previous row. Then in the next dc of the row below, you do the 3dc thus forming a shell st. Then you slip st in the next ch space, ( the loop between where you finished the shell and where #1 is on your pic) ch5, slip st in the next ch space ( the loop between your #1&2) Doilies continue in a circle, do not turn!
I hope this helps. Doilies are my favourite type of crochet. I found when I started making doilies that if I wrote each step of the pattern on a piece of paper with each new step on it's own line, it was easier to understand. I now use the patterns with a picture and symbols which I find a lot less confusing. If you need more help, ask it in a question form to me, Donya(Donna).
