I purchased Creme of Nature, Millennia Mud, and Silk Elements for my hair which is damaged from hair color and
I colored my hair 3 weeks ago, I need a relaxed but I need to get my hair back healthy. I trim my hair every 4-6 weeks. I was told the last time I asked similar question to buy a masque, ultra moisturiIng shampo for dry, brittle and colored hair. I also bought silk elements to wrap my hair after washing and conditioning my hair.
Please let me know if what I purchased form Sally's is okay.
OK, there used to be a saying back in the day about this...
"You cannot relax your hair and color at the same time.."
Now a days, relaxers are more gentle and mild. But it is recommended to relax 6 weeks after hair color.
I am going to presume you are a woman of color, and with that being said, people of color shouldn't wash their hair often. It strips the hair of the natural oils.
Wash your hair every 2 weeks. Use a moisturizing shampoo. Creme of Nature is great. It also detangles. You also want to use a cholesterol treatment. Queen Helene makes this. Apply that to freshly washed hair, cover it with a cap and sit under a dryer for a while.
After you do that, rinse clean and towel dry hair. Use Luster's Pink moisturizing lotion, enough to coat the hair lightly, and blow dry with a comb.
Whatever new growth you have, tap that sucker with a hot comb. Wait until your hair is absolutely healthy, and then relax. If you can't or won't do the hot comb thing, a bump iron will do, or a flat iron.
If you are still resistant at that, then use a children's mild relaxer and apply to your new growth only.
