I have a silk and lace nightgown that was my great grandmothers that I only wear on special occasions. The last time I wore in was in June-ish and I just realized that there is a grease stain from the last time I wore it!
Please help! I need to get it out safely, because it is very very very special to me 
So please don't give me any ideas that you haven't already tried yourself on a similar item.
Hiya I restore vintage and antique linens. The composition of the gown makes this tricky but not unsolvable. You will need to be patient it may take several tries.
Dampen the area and apply a paste of cornstarch. Let it sit overnight. In the morning rinse the area and use DAWN dish detergent to scrub it gently and rinse VERY well. Then roll in a towel to remove the excess water and let AIR dry.
As mentioned this may take several attempts you can not stress the material with harsh chemicals. There are more invasive ways to do this such as the use of peroxide or oxyclean. Please note that if the fabric is not white the "oxy's" will discolor it.
If the fabric IS white and has yellowed over the years there is a product called Yellow-out that is amazing.
