Is gold usually found combined or uncombined in the earth's crust?
i've been doing internet research on this all day and the websites i'm finding are contradicting each other! some individual websites seem to be contradicting themselves!
the two ideas brought up are
-gold artifacts are rarely pure and most contain significant silver contents (which is called electrum)
-gold is found uncombined in nature
so which answer is correct and why? any help would be great!! is it more often found combined or uncombined??
you can find, gold, silver, copper as nuggets (pure metals)
or minerals like gold tellurides, (calaverite, silvanite).
or pyrite with gold (common in Italy)
