For any yarn spinners: Is this a good deal for some Merino fiber?
I am new to spinning (I am currently using a bottom whorl drop spindle), and I looked up some good fibers for beginners, and apparently Merino is supposed to be nice for beginners.
I found some on eBay and I don't know if it is a good deal or not.
The total price(including shipping) is $11.00, and it is 8 oz. of 64's grade Merino. It is ready to spin and everything. That is the only important information from the seller.
I've been looking around, and the one I am looking at on eBay does seem pretty cheap, but I don't know about the different "grades" of Merino.
What do you think? Do you think that there are other fibers that are good for beginners?
Thanks!
Interweave Press publishes a magazine on Spinning and also does a internet newsletter. You can research Interweave Press's website to find more information.
You can also check out this chart. It may help you It says 64's are fine fibers so $11.00 sounds like a good deal.
