To those of asian culture and who follows feng shui?
I bought a pure jade ring (no gold or silver) for about 30 bucks. It was very translucent but still very pretty. While I was showering, I set it aside and then it fell in the tub and cracked into several pieces. I find it a waste to just throw it out and buy another. I want to super glue it back together or bring it to a jewelers who can maybe add some silver pieces but, is it considered back luck to wear jade once its been broken?
Thanks in advance
To those who are saying that jade is strong and it does not break... what the hell are you talking about? Anything that is carved out of any ornamental stone can break, especially since the ring I had was pure jade, there was no metal involved! To get a better understanding of what it looked like, here you go, http://www.amazon.com/Genuine-Green-Jade-Gemstone-Band/dp/B000BUBTP4/ref=pd_bbs_1?ie=UTF8&s=jewelry&qid=1206693944&sr=8-1
only difference between mine and that was my jade was higher quality and cost me about 6 times that.
First poster, that's because you have no knowledge of it so move away cos it's my turn to speak. Moreover, you're not a Chinese nor an Asian. Stressing more on the Chinese though.
Well, I have to admit it's a small part of one's Feng Shui. As long as a harmony environment is concerned.
Anyway, when a Jade breaks, it means something.
Either it has protected you from the evil spirits/bad lucks or something awful is yet to come.
Do not super glue it back though. Lol. Cos the element used isn't friendly with it. Something like that. I don't know how to explain it better. @@
Some old Chinese ladies I know just fold it in a cloth and keep it aside. If it still looks ok and you're still able to make something with it, then go bring it to the gold/jade smith to make something out of it.
You can also ask their opinions on it though. If they are extremely experienced then you may want to listen to them instead. XD
But if you insist on keeping it, I suggest you clean the stone. Soak them overnight to -recharge- them.
I still keep my broken crystals though. Cleansed and recharge them. Why? Because they still hold some powers in them.
EDIT: EXCUSE ME, PEOPLE. HELLO!? I am an Chinese! And I use stones & crystals. And I have Jades as well. >.>
Breaking a Jade DOES mean bad luck.
The Chinese have MANY superstitions, if you, Westerners do not know.
Jades do break as well. It's fragile, alike other stones. The fact that her Jade is only 30 dollars may mean that her Jade may be of the lower grade but it's still a Jade. And it still serve the same purpose alike any other Jades.
And Jades are expensive, for your info. Very expensive. Maybe the guy who sold you the Jade never told you what Grade it was or he was just bluffing you on it's grade or quality.
