I love this era because there was a clear distinction between servants and the upper class. I also feel like if it existed today we would have far less unemployment and could probably take care of our illegal immigration problem.
I would definitely enjoy a formal servant, someone in uniform. Housecleaning services provide poor servant and rude employees which is really unacceptable. Maids in Victorian times would clean, help you dress and wait on you hand and foot. They knew their place.
Jessica, the problem is that you are assuming that you would be the upper class here. How sweet for you if that were true - that you would not to even have to worry about dressing yourself, and would have someone to boss around and do what you want them to do.
But, how would you pay for your servants? And how would you treat them. The tone in your message sounds like you would treat them pretty poorly. You are stating about rude employees, but what about rude employers???
