I am looking at motorcycles and was mostly interested in British, Italian and Spanish bikes. Any recommendations?
As suggested, just about anything British at that price will be a project. You might find a Triumph 500 in running condition. A Guzzi 850T might be had, but nothing with any more panache than that. By Spanish you have to mean Bultaco or Montesa; those are both pretty thin on the ground, and you have to pay a premium for a decent Bultaco.
You might consider east european 2-strokes like Jawa, CZ, MZ and Puch. I have had lots of them. They are pretty cheap, and lots of fun to twiddle on and ride. They are getting a bit rarer too as they fade into distant memory, but they were never so good that they deserve to be expensive (although a restored Puch split single can bring over $3k).
