I have a crocheted, cotton doily from the 30s-40s that has mildew stains in the center. It's about 8" in
diameter. The outer edges, about 1/2 " are yellow cotton, the stained part is white. I have washed it normally with bleach but it didn't work. Is there any way I can restore this? It was made by my Grandma and I treasure it. Thanks.
Unfortunatley Mold is almost impossible to remove. Might try hanging it in the sun, to see if the sun can bleach the spot out. Good Luck, and I'm sure it's a gorgeous piece.
